As Promised, Riverside

So I took a little drive around town snapping some photos of home and there were hardly any cars out so I just sort of parked my car in the middle of the street for a few minutes. That definitely never could have happened in San Diego! Of course, once I got to the busier parts of town I actually had to pull over. Anyway, here is Riverside.

There's a man who lives by the train tracks and he takes his goats on walks. Then the goats just kind of hang out for a while.

These goats are across the street. There are a lot of goats where I live...

These chickens hang out in the front yard sometimes. I hadn't seen them since one of them was squashed in the road but it looks like they're back for now.

Some cows by my house.

And baby cows!

This is the hill behind my house. When I was little we used to hike up there with our dogs and they'd play in the reservoir at the top.

It's kind of hard to tell in this picture but this is an underground house. It's been there forever but I don't know if anyone lives in it. People freaked out when it was built because... I don't know, mole people?

A barn.

The entrance to the Mission Inn. The Mission Inn is definitely the most famous thing in Riverside.

This is President Taft's chair inside the Mission Inn. He certainly was hefty...

I remember coming here when I was a kid during the Orange Blossom Festivals. Sadly, there are no more Orange Blossom Festivals in Riverside but I'm sure there are tons of cherry blossom festivals in Japan!

  3. Hey Hump,

Thanks for refreshing my memory of Riverside with these pictures. Now I know why I nicknamed the "951" Podunk, California!
